Signature Vehicle Events 

 The Texas Auto Writers Association annually produces two signature events: the Texas Auto Roundup in the spring and the Texas Truck Rodeo in the fall. Throughout the year we also participate and hold general membership meetings at the Houston, Dallas and San Antonio Auto Shows as well as the State Fair of Texas. Recognition and encouragement of excellence in automotive journalism are the goals of the annual Excellence in Craft Competition.

    Join us for the Annual
    Texas Auto Roundup

    This year your Auto Roundup registration includes overnight accommodations, welcome dinner, along with breakfast and lunch on the drive day.

    The Texas Auto Writers signature spring driving event, the Auto Roundup, is a great opportunity for both TAWA members and automakers. It provides members an opportunity to drive automakers’ latest vehicles that they may not otherwise get a chance to drive; and in return, the automakers will get journalists’ thoughts, impressions, and evaluations about their drives which journalists also share through social media posts or articles.

    Manufacturers are evaluated thoroughly for coveted TAWA awards as voted on by the TAWA journalist members that participate in the Auto Roundup. Awards are often used for advertising and marketing to showcase manufacturer achievements in Texas and beyond.
