Founded in 1987, the Texas Auto Writers Association has grown to become one of the most recognized and reputable automotive press organizations in the industry. TAWA’s mission is to promote quality and accuracy in automotive journalism and to disseminate information about the automotive industry through news-related print, online and broadcast media. As part of TAWA’s efforts to serve the members who cover the automotive industry, the association produces two popular driving events each year to allow media members to drive and evaluate vehicles entered by manufacturers. The Texas Auto Roundup is held in the spring and the Texas Truck Rodeo follows in the fall. These two nationally-recognized events also allow auto industry executives and associated vendors to meet and interact with members of the automotive media in a relaxed, purposeful forum. |

Each fall, more than 50 TAWA automotive journalists and 100-plus manufacturer representatives from throughout the nation meet for a two-day evaluation of the industry’s best trucks, SUVs and CUVs. Results from the Texas Truck Rodeo are widely covered in national publications such as Motor Trend, Consumer Reports and USA Today. Manufacturers covet the prestigious awards they earn at the Texas Truck Rodeo and often mention the honors in their promotional material.
